Recently, the Shandong Provincial Department of Education and four other departments announced the list of distinctive colleges in Shandong Province for 2024. Shandong University of Science and Technology’s Embodied Intelligent Systems Future Technology College was approved as a Shandong Future Technology College. Its Energy College was approved as a Shandong Professional Distinctive College, while its New Energy Exploration and Ecological Protection Industry College and Modern Marine Civil Engineering Industry College were approved as Shandong Modern Industry Colleges. The university now has 12 provincial-level distinctive colleges, ranking first among higher education institutions in the province.

In recent years, the university has continuously strengthened the integration of science, education, and industry to foster collaborative education and has further advanced the development of distinctive colleges. Moving forward, the university will deepen the connotation of distinctive college development, improve the collaborative education mechanism integrating science, industry, and education, enhance distinctive features, improve quality, and set an example. By innovating talent cultivation models and transforming teaching organizational methods, the university will promote close alignment between the talent supply side and industry demand side, improve the quality of talent cultivation, and support the university’s high-quality development.
