The 5th National Academic Conference on Rockburst Prevention in Coal Mines was held

From July 16th to 18th, the 5th National Academic Conference on Rockburst Prevention in Coal Mines was held. This conference was sponsored by the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering, China National Coal Association, and China Coal Society, and jointly hosted by Shandong University of Science and Technology and Shandong Energy Group Co., Ltd.

Six academicians, including Xie Heping, Zhang Tiegang, Kang Hongpu, Wang Guofa, Zhao Yangsheng from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Pan Yishan from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, attended the conference. Experts and scholars from 34 universities across China, 8 mine safety administration bureaus and other government departments, 116 scientific research institutions and enterprises, and 78 mines with rockburst issues gathered to discuss theories, advanced technologies, and equipment for rockburst prevention in coal mines.

Zeng Qingtian, President of Shandong University of Science and Technology; Li Wei, Chairman of Shandong Energy Group Co., Ltd.; and Academician Kang Hongpu delivered speeches at the opening ceremony of the conference. Yang Renshu, President of University of Science and Technology Beijing, and Wang Duanwu, President of China Coal City Development Association, also attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was hosted by Academician Pan Yishan, the chairman of the conference.

The 5th National Academic Conference on Rockburst Prevention in Coal Mines was themed "Intelligent, Safe, and Efficient Mining of Rockburst-prone Coal Seams." Participants engaged in academic exchanges focusing on "Opportunities and Challenges for Intelligent Mining in Rockburst-prone Mines and Accelerating the Promotion of Advanced Intelligent Equipment for Rockburst Prevention." The conference aimed to summarize and share the latest research findings in the field of rockburst prevention in coal mines, establish a research framework and discipline system for "Artificial Intelligence + Rockburst Prevention," explore opportunities and challenges for intelligent mining in rockburst-prone mines, accelerate the promotion of advanced intelligent equipment for rockburst prevention, and serve the needs of intelligent mine construction.

During the conference, 53 academic reports were presented, 19 expert consultations on real-world issues at rockburst-prone mines were conducted, 12 special reports on solutions to real-world prediction and prevention issues were delivered, and an exhibition of advanced equipment for rockburst prevention was held. Over 400 experts, scholars, technicians, and graduate students exchanged ideas on academics, discussed cooperation, and talked about development during the conference, accelerating the sharing of scientific and technological achievements and contributing to the continuous development of rockburst prevention in coal mines.
