Recently, the General Office of the Ministry of Education announced the list of the second batch of pilot projects for the construction of virtual teaching and research offices. Professor Cheng Weimin of Shandong University of Science and Technology, as the leader, applied for "Virtual Teaching and Research Office of Safety Engineering" and got approved, which is a major breakthrough of SDUST.

The construction of the virtual teaching and Research Office aims to explore the construction of new teaching organizations, create a new model of teachers' development and a culture of teaching quality, guide teachers to return to teaching, research teaching, love teaching, improve education and teaching ability, and provide strong support for the high-quality development of undergraduate education and teaching. In the pilot work of the construction of virtual teaching and research offices of the Ministry of education, two provincial universities in Shandong province were approved to build pilot projects. Up to now, 7 provincial universities in Shandong province have been approved to build pilot projects.
