On October 12, Peter Harrison, senior vice president of Elsevier's global Journal Department, visited SDUST. Vice President Zhou Donghua welcomed the guests, and they had in-depth discussions on international publication of academic achievements, jointly holding of international academic conferences, internationalization of journals, etc.

Zhou Donghua introduced the university to the guests from the aspects of the scale, the construction of the discipline, the publication of papers, etc. He pointed out that SDUST is a key construction university of Shandong Province for cultivating personnels with practical abilities. It has strong discipline basis and academic advantages in mining engineering, control science and engineering and other fields. He also introduced the academic achievements of the University and its teachers. He hopes that Elsevier can provide more help and guidance, and contribute to the construction and development of "double first class" of SDUST.

Peter Harrison, vice president of Elsevier, introduced the company of Elsevier, and expressed his appreciation for the achievements of our university in recent years in terms of high-level paper publishing and scientific research progress. He hoped that the two sides could further strengthen cooperation, esp. in terms of journal construction, paper publishing and international conferences.

At the symposium, the two sides carried out in-depth and detailed discussions on providing consulting services for the construction of "double first class", jointly holding international academic conferences, international publication of academic achievements, internationalization of journals and other aspects, and reached preliminary cooperation consensus.
