From October 21 to 28, President Yao Qingguo led a delegation to visit Kharkov National University of Ukraine, St. Petersburg University of Technology, People's Friendship University of Russia and United University of Finance and Technology of Russia.

At Kharkov University in Ukraine, Anton Panteleimonov, Vice President of Foreign Affairs, and others warmly welcomed the delegation. The two sides have expressed the intention to integrate into the "Belt and Road " initiative, open up the joint training program of students in two universities, realize the vision of mutual visits and scientific research and technical cooperation between teachers and students.Therefore, the two sides signed the Cooperation Agreement between Shandong University of Science and Technology and Kharkov State University.

At St. Petersburg University of Technology, Russia, the delegation was warmly welcomed by the Director of International Academic and Foreign Economic Relations. On the basis of the previous visit by Professor Serger Lupuleac to the College of Mining of our university, the two sides had in-depth discussions on the cooperation of mechanical scientific research and the joint training of talents between the two universities and reached a number of cooperation intentions.

In the Russian Union University of Finance and Technology, Artem Vasiliev, vice president, warmly welcomed the delegation. The two sides carried out detailed consultations on the "Belt and Road" human resource training base, and jointly launched the "2+2" doubledegree joint education program in related majors.

At the Russian People's Friendship University, Larisa I. Efremova, Vice President of Foreign Affairs, had friendly and pragmatic talks with the delegation. The two sides discussed about the student programs, mutual visits of teachers and scientific research cooperation. The two sides reached a number of consensus and signed the Agreement on Scientific Research and Teaching Cooperation between Shandong University of Science and Technology of China and Russian People's Friendship University.

This visit is an in-depth cooperation between our university and the four universities in Ukraine and Russia mentioned above under the national "Belt and Road" Initiative. It has further strengthened our ties with universities in Ukraine and Russia, expanded the platform for international exchanges and cooperation, and laid a good foundation for further international cooperation.
