On May 16th, Igors Tipans,Vice President of Riga Technical  University of Latvia led a delegation to visit SDUST. Yao Qingguo, Vice  President of SDUST, met with the guests. Zhao Xiangdong, Director of the  International Office, and other senior officials were also present at the  meeting.

During the meeting, the two sides made an introduction to the  history, talent training, discipline structure of its university respectively,  and discussed about topics including the exchange of double degree students in  detail.The two sides agreed that RTU and SDUST share a lot in common in  engineering courses that enjoy advantages, and expressed the willingness to see  further cooperation in teaching, student training, scientific research,  etc.

After the meeting, senior officials from the International  Office had an exchange of views with the Latvian delegation on details of  cooperative programs.
