The SDUST Track and Field Events 2016 was held on May 24. Yuan Junping, Secretary of Party Committee of SDUST, Ren Tingqi, President of SDUST, and other senior officials attended the opening ceremony which was presided over by Liu Peijin, Head of the SDUST Labor Union.

The opening ceremony began with an Honor Guard marching into the stadium to the music of March of Athletes, which was followed by the debut of faculty and student teams.

Yao Qingguo, Vice President of SDUST, addressed the opening ceremony. He said that sports activities, as a way of improving the physical health of faculty members and students, are significant to the development of academic activities of a university. He hoped that all players could respect the fine tradition of SDUST and make contributions to the success of this year’s sports event.

After two days’ of exciting and intense competitions, the track and field events came to an end on May 26 with the College of Chemical and Environmental Engineering achieving the highest points, ranking the first among 26 teams. Thanks to the outstanding performance of international students, the College of International Exchange won the award of Excellent Sportsmanship together with other eight colleges.
