SDUST Delegation Visited Russian and Mongolian Universities

From September 20th to 27th, Prof. Ren Tingqi, President of SDUST, led a delegation to visit Kuzbass National University of Technology of Russia and Mongolian university of science and technology (MUST) of Mongolia.

On September 20th, Prof. Ren and his delegation of four people arrived at Kuzbass National University of Technology and were warm welcomed by senior staffs of Kuzbass.

The two sides had a detailed discussion and reached consensus on topics including the number of exchange undergraduates, joint education of postgraduates, faculty communication and exchange, research cooperation, co-organizing of the 7th Sino-Russian Academic Conference etc. In a friendly atmosphere, the 7th round of cooperation agreement between SDUST and Kuzbass was inked by the two presidents.

During the visit in Kuzbass, the SDUST delegation attended the 65th Anniversary of Kuzbass National University of Technology. On behalf of faculty and students of SDUST, President Ren delivered a speech at the ceremony, congratulating Kuzbass on the great achievements it had made over the past 65 years. The SDUST delegation also visited museums, laboratories, the College of Mining and the College of Chemicals, as well as communicated with students of  Surveying and Mapping Engineering Program. Together with the faculty of Chemicals of Kuzbass, the SDUST delegation attended a seminar in which the  progress achieved in undertaking the project of Sino-Russian Cooperation on the Key Efficient Technology of Mercury Nitride Desulfurization in Coal-burning Power Plant was fully recognized and the work plan for the next step was mapped out.At the seminar, Prof. Zhou Shixue made a presentation titled “Research of the Processing Method of Gas Phase Mercury Nitride Desulfurization”.

During their visit in Mongolian university of Science and Technology (MUST), the SDUST delegation attended a meeting with senior staffs of MUST and talked about issues including the expansion of joint education programs, MUST teaching staffs pursuing PhD degree in SDUST, SDUST students of the Surveying and Mapping Engineering Program doing internship in MUST, and research cooperation in coal mining industry. Presidents of MUST and SDUST inked the agreement of the second round of cooperation between the two sides, as well as the agreement of the joint education of Mongolian undergraduates.
