Yao Qingguo meets guests from University of New South Wales

On May 9th, Professor David Lovell, Vice-Director of the International Division of the University of New SouthWales, Australia, and Professor Wang Xiaohua, Director of The Sino-Australian Research Center for Coastal Management visited SDUST. Yao Qingguo, president,welcomed Professor David Lovell, Professor Wang Xiaohua and his team.


Yao Qingguo warmly welcomed the visitors from the University of New South Wales. He introduced the history, discipline construction, discipline system, personnel training, international exchanges and cooperation of SDUST. He said that the internationalization of SDUST urgently needs cooperation with world-renowned universities such as the University of New South Wales, and the joint education of students is a key part of the cooperation. Research cooperation and visiting programs among professors are also crucial. He hoped that the cooperation between the two sides will be smooth and beautiful. Professor David Lovell introduced the basic situation of the University of New South Wales. The University of New SouthWales ranked 45 in the QS World University Rank from 2017 to 2018. It attaches great importance to the expansion of international cooperation and hopes tocarry out Master's and Doctor's cooperation programs with our university.


After the meeting, the leaders of the InternationalOffice, the College of Geomatics and the Graduate School also held in-depth discussionswith the guests of the University of New South Wales on the joint education program of the two universities, and initially reached a cooperation intention.


After the meeting, the guests visited the laboratories of the College of Geomatics and the campus, and were impressed by the beautiful environment and professional discipline construction of SDUST.
