On June 27, Luo Gongli, Chairman of the University Council, met with Monica Kennedy, Vice President of Swinburne University of Technology, Professor Bill Damachis, Director of International Education Department, and Wang Jing, Director of Australian Education Management Group.Vice President Yao Qingguo and other leaders attended the meeting.


Luo Gongli welcomed the guests. He introduced the situation of SDUST from the aspects of university history, education pattern, discipline construction, discipline system, personnel training, international exchanges and cooperation. He said that internationalization is the trend of the development of universities in the world. SDUST and Swinburne University of Science and Technology have a long-term and solid foundation for cooperation, especially the planned joint educational institute makes the relationship between the two universities closer. At the same time, the cooperation between the two universities in the aspects of student training, research cooperation and school-enterprise integration is also very important. We firmly believe that the cooperation between the two universities is getting better and better.


Monica Kennedy first thanked Prof. Luo for his warm welcome, introduced the basic situation of Swinburne University of Science and Technology, and reviewed the history of cooperation with SDUST. She said that Shandong University of Science and Technology is a long-term friendly partner of Swinburne University of Science and Technology. The two universities share the same internationalization concept and similar strong disciplines. In the future, we will rely on cooperative institutions to further strengthen and deepen cooperation in personnel training, teacher exchanges and scientific research.


Accompanied by Zhao Xiangdong, Director of the International Office, foreign guests visited the laboratories of the College of Mechatronics and the college of Automation. Bill Damachis also gives presentations and interacts with students from the College of Mechatronics and the College of Automation.
