Delegation Headed by Ren Tingqi Visited Partners in Australia and Korea

From November 25 to December2, President Ren Tingqi of Shandong University of Science and Technology led adelegation to visit University of Tasmania and CSRIO in Australia and PyongtaekUniversity in Korea.
At University of Tasmania,President Ren Tingqi and Mike Calford reviewed the two undergraduate educationprograms cooperated by the two universities. Whilst they acknowledged theachievements, they also discussed the problems that exist in running the programs.They have reached a consensus on cooperation model, English course delivery,promotion of enrollment, study at Australia, adjustment of course structure andimprovement of education quality of the programs through discussions. Bothparties have agreed to increase exchange and cooperation by launching the 3+1+1bachelor to master articulation program and program of joint education ofmaster and PhD students. They have also agreed to encourage faculty tocooperate on research and jointly apply for international research projectbetween the Chinese and Australian governments. The two universities havefinally signed a memorandum.
At CSRIO, President Ren Tingqiintroduced the recent development of SDUST and acknowledged the good foundationfor bilateral cooperation. After an introduction to the status quo of coalexploration in Australia and research of CSRIO, Dr Baotao Shen expressed hiswillingness to carry out more research cooperation with SDUST and provide moresupport for SDUST faculty members to engage in academic exchange at CSRIO. Bothsides agreed to further strengthen the exchange between their faculty membersand actively organize and carry out international scientific and technologicalcooperation.
AT Pyongtaek University, bothparties expressed their determination to educate the joint program studentswell after a summary of the undergoing 2+2 joint programs. During the visit,President Ren Tingqi and Zhao Jixing signed the 3+2 and 3+1+2 programagreements.
Thisvisit has strengthened the partnership with universities and researchinstitutions in Australia and Korea, increased cooperation areas, promoted thedevelopment of joint programs and thus achieved remarkable results.
